Beyond Auxerre, the team heads for the beautiful village of Noyers, with its half-timbered houses, which hosts truffle fairs every November. Leaving this town, the home of Nougat, the team cycles south from Montélimar towards Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, which was the start of stage 16 of the 2011 Tour De France, and stage 13 of the 2012 Tour de France. Cycling on, the team passes Suze-la-Rousse, before riding through the Roman city of Orange, then crossing the Rhône at Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The ride finishes the day in the city of Avignon, which only became part of France, after papal rule, in 1791.

The following 25miles will take the team to Aix-en-Provence, founded in the year 123BC and home to Paul Cézanne at the turn of the last century. The team now hugs the coast road via Cannes, Golfe-Juan, and the International Yacht Harbour at Antibes. The final 25miles passes Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Eze, into Monaco, and up to the finish point at the Casino Monte-Carlo.
